Amanda Perkins
– Student Rep: preparations
for Hallowe’en is under way and is a free event; also, the preparations for
the school dance on Nov29th is underway – students will need their SAC card
and there will be a Liaison Officer to ensure safety and security for this
event; the Student Council will participate in disseminating and collecting
the Cafeteria survey – this survey
will be developed by the Parent Council who will then have the admin team
review it and then the survey will be issued to Amanda for dissemination and
collection – Debbie suggested using ‘scan’ cards for easy of tabulating the
survey results. |
|
Physical
Education Department presentation: a couple of
key issues/concerns were tabled: a)
revisit the cost-benefit of a full year program in a semestered school setup
– staff is inclined towards scrapping the full year approach and replacing
with the semestered structure – daily classes keep the students engaged. b) funding issues for supporting interschool
sport events - supply teacher cost, transportation cost, coaching cost,
etc. There was a brief HALE Healthy
Active Living Education video promoting lifelong physical activity amongst
our children and youth. |
