Approval
of the June 4th Minutes, and a big thank-you to Elaine Wilkes for
holding the Chair position for the past two years. Follow
up on item #4: School Weekly Bulletin
– events will be updated on an as needed basis and not
weekly; once MSS gets its dotcom, the outdoor tall sign will be updated to
include the website address; council info for updating will be given to Maureen
Weaver who will then issue to Mark Melnyk for updating onto the website. |

resource centre’s products and services curriculum based, were showcased
including: library etiquette (do’s and
don’ts), usage of computers, printers, scanners, copier, multimedia products,

for the presentation and its products and services. |
|
Amanda
Perkins Grade 11 – Student Liaison: reported on the SAC attack event which was
a fun filled and successful fundraising activity, specifically, the dunk
tanks, rides, and freezies were a hit with all. A brief mention of the passing of the teacher
Christopher Durham. He is sorely
missed. |
|
Staff
Update: 8 new
teachers this year; net enrolment projected at 1285 such that an extra half
teacher for the second semester is a possibility. FYI, last year, we lost a half teacher
because the enrolment was off by 9 students. |
|
OSSLT
Results: down by 1%
from last year, and confident in the overall student performance for the
upcoming year |
|
Board

Council Agenda – very timely indeed. 2)
Oct15 School Council Forum at Bur Oak 6-9pm session

|

the School Report gets 30 minutes such that the admin team gets the
flexibility of not submitting their agenda to School Council before the meeting
and that any department presentation time is included in the allotted time of
30 minutes; |

provide some measure of focus topics, the 0708 List will be a guide to the
council in the hopes of adding value to the education and school experience
of the students, teachers, administration, and parents |
|
0708
Item #1: Communication to Parents – information
such as the council minutes, surveys, callout for volunteers, events such as
the Parent Engagement Evenings in November and May, etc, will be communicated
to Maureen Weaver who will then issue the information to Mark Melnyk for
posting onto the website; as a sidebar, we are excitedly awaiting the dotcom
to MSSJ |

the process for council is to submit information to Maureen Weaver who will
issue to Mark Melnyk for updating the website; the frequency will not be on a

sharing with parents. |
