Canadian History 1920s & 1930s TIMELINE:  Smart Ideas

Rationale

Students will gain an understanding of the important events of the 1920s and 1930s in Canada.  Time line mapping allows students to better analyze and understand ideas through visual multilevel interactive maps. 

Task
Using SMART IDEAS, students will select a minimum of 15 events / terms and summarize key ideas from the 1920s and 1930s using the Smart Ideas Timeline (Chapters 6, 7, 8).

Criteria for Timeline

ü  summarize key events (5W + H) and historical significance

ü  illustrate clear interrelationships / connections in applicable areas (military, political, social, economic, political, cultural, religion, arts, legacies, key figures / people, historical importance etc.)

ü  includes subtopics and detailed examples

ü  presents information in an organized fashion with clear themes / patterns

ü  includes relevant quotes, images and links to maps and scholarly websites

ü  uses interactive clip art, connectors, patterns, images and colours
