What?
• Convoys are an accompanying and protecting force as of ships
• Most convoys were escorted by three or four corvettes.
• Corvettes are small fast vessel that accompanied the larger supply ships.


Historical Significance
• By the end of war, the RCN had escorted over 25,000 merchant ships to Great Britain and thousands more to ports in Russia and the Mediterranean .
