What?
Convoys are an accompanying and protecting force as of ships
Most convoys were escorted by three or four corvettes.
Corvettes are small fast vessel that accompanied the larger supply ships.


Historical Significance
By the end of war, the RCN had escorted over 25,000 merchant ships to Great Britain and thousands more to ports in Russia and the Mediterranean .
