Courageous Soldiers
By: Joanne Wong
Fathers and brothers,
Husbands and sons.
Striving soldiers with enormous guns,
Courageously fighting for our home land,
Patriotic but frightened men.
Bombs exploding nights and days,
Endless suffering shown on face.
Like hungry tigers waiting for prey,
Soldiers in trenches, not a good place.
Poison gases and a thousand corps,
Soldiers pray for the war to stop.
Fleshy lands and bloody river,
When will their wounds be recovered?
One by one, troop by troop,
Their lives taken while they stood.
Here we are in the field of
Their endless courage will be remembered.
