Religion—Religion Poem
By: Laura Banfield
For: Ms. Chong
I am a Christian and I
practice this religion.
Hollup- wait a minute; excuse
my precision. Let me take it back
From way back, now can I
remember?
In church always to never,
Betray, disobey or hate any
other. Neither
To rarely ever- that’s how my
religion was consulted to me;
You see,
I believe that Adam had a
thing for this chick named Eve
(in the bible they were the 1st
on the market
To be)
But when God set the rules,
he didn’t think he’d be mistaken
For a fool. So when Evil
lurked,
It’s plan had told Eve “do
not grieve” but to
Go ahead and eat all she can
until time was getting steep
(mind you this plan had
worked) As deception followed through,
For the 2nd time
(oh yes) she knew,
But Eve ignored the main
rule.
She gave the fruit to her
companion and simplistically explained
To Adam,
“Oh it’s okay, it was given
to me from a mysterious figure named
Damien.”
This fruit made them realize,
speechless they were,
Hiding to cover and find any
disguise.
To them they were completely
surprised.
Low and behold they’re they
were buck naked right before
Each
Others’
Eyes
And with no further a due,
when God came into town he didn’t know what to do.
So with one quick, final move,
he gave them both
(Adam and Eve)
A boot!
And that started the many
ways that children
As well as adults
Carry with them in this day
and age.
But as long as you
pray-you’ll reach heaven with no worries no disruptions right?
No way.
Be strong with God and there
will bloom a bond.
The glass is half full in his
kingdom.
No misunderstanding, in
heaven your saved-we are all his loved ones.
Now don’t get me wrong,
This doesn’t mean if you pray
One day,
Your problems will be long
gone and just fade away.
No.
But,
Don’t take it for granted, A
religion can keep you enchanted---
Me? I’m enchanted.
For I am a Christian and I
practice this religion.
I took it way back; now what
do you think about that?
