World Religions Poster

"It appears that throughout the world man has always been seeking something beyond his own death, beyond his own problems, something that will be enduring, true and timeless.  He has called is God, he has given it many names; and most of us believe in something of that kind, without ever actually experiencing it."

WELCOME TO GRADE 11 WORLD RELIGIONS (HRT 3M)!

In this course, you will study and explore a variety of religions that are practiced around the world. Some religions you study will be complex in beliefs and practices, others more simple. Some religions hold stereotypes that will be addressed, discussed and corrected. Many of the religions explored may leave you with more questions about your own beliefs, or may answer your own questions about the world. Or it could reinforce what you already believe. Most importantly, in and out of the classroom, you will be able to understand and discuss with accuracy the roles, beliefs and practices of various religions in today's world.

This course is structured for students interested in pursuing a university education. The class features many characteristics of an introductory University level course: weekly readings, lectures, debates, discussions, presentations and final examinations. This method of program delivery is an attempt to facilitate the transition from secondary education to post-secondary education.
