Welcome back to classes!  My name is Mr. Cotey and I'm going to be your instructor for this course.  Be sure to refer to this page regularly as it will outline the week's lessons, dues dates and readings for the classes.  If you are away you can look here to see what you missed.  You will be responsible for catching up on missed work.  I look forward to meeting all of you.  Please note, the weekly schedule could change depending on where our discussions take us.  Be prepared to be flexible.

Introduction to Journals (20 min)

First topic: Why are you taking this course?  What do you hope to take away from this class?

 

Research Paper Introduction (20 min):

- What is a hypothesis?  Why do we use it in our research?

- Overview of important research dates

Forces that Influence Social Change - Jig Saw Exercise (30 min)

Three Sections to be split up among students in groups of two per section

Choose a partner and a Social Scientist to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation on.  Hand in your topic sheet to Mr. Cotey with your three choices for Tuesday
