Answer the ONE of the following Essay questions on the paper provided  using complete sentences.

 

   1.      Describe how Eurocentric racism informed imperialism in the nineteenth century.

 

   2.      Explain and analyze the reasons and consequences of the fall of the Romanov dynasty and the subsequent rise of Soviet communism

3.      You are a British reporter with a British Labour newspaper, sympathetic to the workers’ revolution in Russia. Report to your readership on the effects of the Five Year Plan, 1929-1932, for workers and peasants in the Soviet Union.

 

   4.      Explain how World War II could be described as a “European civil war with global consequences.”

 

   5.      As a war analyst for the Allies, account for Hitler’s successes up to the end of the year 1941. What signs were evident at that time which suggested that the Nazis could be stopped?

 

   6.      Analyze the lasting impact of individuals in the 20th Century in shaping world events and the current structure of the international community. Compare and Contrast the roles of Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Gandhi, Mao Tse-Tung and one Canadian Prime Minister, and one American President.
