Canada's Role:

Our Stand:  Canada has made an effort to be an establishing force in the Egyptian-Israeli region and we pride ourselves on laying a constructive role in the Middle East. Our attitude of fairness and impartiality have established Canada as one of the few nations that can play the role of a neutral mediator in this heavily politicized conflict.

Our Goal:  A negotiated, bilateral peace settlement between Israelis and Palestinians, with the assistance of the international community on the complementing multilateral level is a plan of action that Canada finds appropriate. The Israeli-Palestinian confrontation is a conflict that cannot be solved by military acts, a negotiated agreement is the only solution.
