Assignment Overview sheet.

Introduction- This simulation has four interrelated
elements:
1. Country
Handbook
2. 3
press conferences
3. A
position paper
4. Participation
in the upcoming conference. Each element will be evaluated independently.
You may choose to work alone or with a partner (*Note:
As always, all evaluation will be individual*).
You will develop a country handbook and participate in the press
conferences, representing your country.
Your Country Handbook
will have the following components.
1. County/organization
profile

Include a brief overview of the economic,
political, and social conditions that exist within your assigned nation or
organization
·
Clarify the introductory position that your state
will be taking with regards to the scenario you are presented. You will need to
provide a justification for this position. (*Note: this position may change and
may not reflect your true intent as you enter the conference*)
·
Know your allies and opponents. When you represent
your country or when you interact with other leaders, you will need to know
their position on particular issues.

2. Role
Profile
·
Includes a description of the political agenda,
character traits, background, interests, long and short-term political
objectives, and potential allies and opponents.

You may want to contact the embassy of your role
character and country. You are encouraged to find primary sources such as
speeches, books or articles written by the leader of your country/organization,
or interviews.
3. Timeline
·
Create a timeline that illustrates key moments in
history, which have shaped your country’s policies in current international
relations.

depth report
Choose one
incident that you believe has shaped and affected your country or
organization’s position in current international relations. (ie: end of colonial rule, war, peace
treaty, etc.)
