Back in 2000, George W. Bush said, “If
we're an arrogant nation, they'll resent us; if we're a
humble nation, but strong, they'll welcome us.” Of
course, things did not go according to plans, and
instead, the foreign policy he pursued was the complete
opposite of the one he promised. Eight years later,
nine trillion dollars in debt, resented by much of the
world, and Americans not any safer, the United States
find itself in need of a truly humble foreign policy.
