QUESTIONS FOR THE PRESS CONFERENCE

Syria

~Why did you, in 2004, let go of your influence over Lebanon?

Lebanon

~During the civil war Syria helped stop it by bringing in troops.  Do you think that Lebanon by themselves would have been able to resolve the issues and stop the war?

~It is suspected that Syria might have had something to do with Rafik Hariri’s death, has this caused many speculations and tension between you and Syria?

Saudi Arabia

~How do you feel about the United States to control a lot of what you do through their actions?

Afghanistan

~Why is the US helping you rebuild your economy?  What are you willing to offer them when Afghanistan is a stable country?

~Why have you not asked Pakistan representatives to finally make peace between yourselves?  The Durand Line situation should finally be settled

~President Emile Lahud, what is getting in the way of making a humans right constitution?

~How do you feel about Canada being in Afghanistan?  What are they doing to better your economy and way of living?

Palestine-Fatah

~How, in only a couple of days, have Fatah and Hamas come to a “common goal”?

~What do you have to give up to Hamas in the agreements you have come to?

Palestine-Hamas

~How, after only a couple of days, have Hamas and Fatah come to a “common goal”?

~What do you have to give up to Fatah in the agreements that you have come to?

Russia

~You are Allies with the United States but you oppose the US going into Iraq, that would put you on Iraq’s side, yet you sold defense missiles to Iran, why?

~Who would you consider your closest ally? Why?

~What have you done during your time a president to insure that the Russian economy has increased so much?

Pakistan

~Why have you not asked Afghanistan representatives to finally make peace between yourselves?

United States

~Saudi Arabia has welcomed the US in many ways from letting military troops stay in Saudi Arabia to selling oil to the US.  In the 9/11 attack on the United States it was found out that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi Arabian.  Do you think Saudi Arabia is pulling a fast one over you?

            ~Why are you helping Afghanistan?

~During an interview with Elizabeth Brookes she asked you what you think about the Canadian dollar being on par with the American dollar, can you please repeat your answer to the rest of the delegates in the room?

~Is the American Economy going down because of the amount of time, money and effort you are putting into the Middle East?

Israel

~President of Lebanon, Emile Lahoud, has made one of his political objectives to stop Hezbollah fighters from going into the streets and harming people.  With this known the Hezbollah went into Israel and captured two Israeli soldiers.  As retaliation Israel bombed the Lebanese airport and parts of southern Lebanon.  Why would you do this when you know that it is not Lebanon itself that is doing these wrongdoings? (July 2006)

Canada

~Why do you think that the Canadian dollar is doing so well?

~Canada is a supporter of Palestine becoming it’s own nation and being able to protect itself from terrorist activity and Canada also supports Palestine and their search for an independent, democratic peaceful state.  With this said, what would happen if for Palestine to be its own state Israel has to give up some of their land which you believe is rightfully theirs.  What side is Canada on now?

~Many people believe that the Canadian dollar is on par with the US because the US economy is going down because they are spending too much money and time in the Middle East.  Do you think that Canada might be spending to much time, effort and money in the Middle East?
