The Vedas are the sacred text of Hinduism. It consists of the
Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda, with Rig Veda being
the oldest of the four. The Rig Veda came about around 1500
B.C.E. The Vedas contain mainly of hymns, incantations, and
rituals from ancient India.
The Tripitaka is the formal term for Buddhist cannon of
scriptures. It literally means "three baskets"
