Canada's Funding of Athletes (Olympic, Amateur, Professional)
PAGE DEVELOPED BY: Lisa Daley 2006

SUMMARY

The funding of Canada's athletes in the Olympics, amateur sports and professional sports is done through donations and funding from the Canadian government.

Controversy is being surrounded by the fact that amateur athletes are not compensated enough by the Canadian government when going into sports like the Olympics. Canadians think that the amateur athletes should receive more funding in order to obtain more medals from the Olympics.
