Summary: The "Greatest Canadian" series started in April 2004, when CBC aired the television show determined to find the greatest Canadian. The show continued until November 29 of the same year, when the winner was chosen. The criteria was simple, "The criteria were broad. To be eligible, a nominee had to be:

A full eight months went by with the show being aired until the winner was found. Historical Significance: Although the series was only aired two years ago, the significance was great. The series let Canadians participate in nominating people to be the greatest Canadian. Many people watched and heard about this show and were talking about it. The series was not too competative to be illegal, but just enough to keep people watching to find out would would take the title of the greatest Canadian. |
