EDUCATION DEPARTMENT |
The
Guidance/Career Education Department at Markville Secondary
School provides a variety of services for students, teachers,
and parents. In a world that is changing to rapidly, counselors
will assist students in making informed decisions regarding
their educational, career, and personal concerns. The
Guidance/Career Education Department is open from 8:00 a.m to
4:00 p.m. Students may select the counsellor of their choice. Counseling
is available on either an individual or small
group basis. Counselors will assists students in resolving
personal and/or social difficulties, identifying their
strengths and weaknesses, and developing their interpersonal
skills. Counselors will work with students in planning their
high school program in order to meet their educational and
career goals. The focus will be upon creating a program that
is best suited to their abilities, aptitudes, interests and
future plans. Information about such things as night school,
summer school, scholarships, leaderships opportunities,
conferences, and Community Service hours is also available. In
addition, Markville receives support from outside agencies
such as Evergreen Hospice. |
